Canada's foodie community is impressive and constantly growing. With the renewed importance of understanding where our food comes from and increasing interest in farm-to-table nourishment, bringing quality into our kitchens is key. It's this high quality that WÜSTHOF has always been very passionate about.
Commitment to quality ingredients is especially important when it comes the food we put in front of our children. It's up to us to make sure they're eating healthy, eating well and having a little fun in the process.
For Mother's Day this year, WÜSTHOF Canada wanted to recognize a very special group of Canadian food bloggers who not only excel in the kitchen, but whose approach to cooking is family-oriented and quality-focused. We're talking about the great Canadian mommy food bloggers!
We've hand picked our top 5 from across the country. If you haven't already met these talented ladies, we're pleased to introduce you to Randa, Amy, Julie, Laura & Ceri and Aimée. Prepare for your mouth to start watering...
The Bewitchin' Kitchen
North Coast, British Columbia
Randa lives on British Columbia's North Coast with her husband Eric and toddler Carter. She believes the kitchen is the heart of the home and loves to meal plan and grocery shop. The Bewitchin' Kitchen is a great resource for all.
Victoria, British Columbia
Amy believes the work we do in the kitchen is important, to your family and to your community. She believes it's not just dinner, it's also love, nourishment and memories. Mom to two boys, Amy says that although it can be a challenge to getting them to eat what's put in front of them, it's important that her kids learn to prepare food from scratch and have fun in the kitchen.
Dinner with Julie
Julie shares her kitchen diary with readers, all while facing the busy realities of being a professional food writer, a wife and mom to 5-year-old Willem. Join her in the kitchen of her 100-year-old home in the ultra-friendly Ramsay neighbourhood of Calgary.
Sweet Potato Chronicles
Toronto-based Laura & Ceri come from years of experience in the worlds of fashion, beauty, publishing and PR. But, the ladies say it was their experience as parents – trying to meet the seemingly endless food conundrums a family presents – that the Sweet Potato Chronicles was born. Check out these passionate home cooks who cut through the clutter and bring parents the most important information on nutrition, health and cooking for kids.
Aimée does all the cooking for her family of five: husband Danny, 8-year-old Noah, 6-year-old Mateo and toddler Clara. This impressive blogger has a background in the culinary arts and nearly 10 years experience in the professional cooking industry, but when she fell in love with motherhood she eagerly traded her tongs and chef whites for cloth diapers and a laptop. A big advocate of kids in the kitchen, Aimée encourages them to be creative and have fun with food.
Thank you for sharing your love of cooking, recipes and talents with us. Most of all, thanks for the great job you're doing raising the little chefs of tomorrow. Today, we celebrate you!
Happy Mother's Day from WÜSTHOF Canada.
